Old Love by Eric Clapton – sort of

Charlene by Anthony Hamilton – but it’s a beat

Erykah Badu – I want you

I love this track by Erykah Badu. I personally think it’s a masterclass in how to build on a red hot simmer. Naturally, I decided to cook up a little loop in its honour.

Jeff Buckley – Forget Her

This song has so many gut wrenching elements to it. So naturally I tried to ram as many of those elements as I could into 4 bars with a loop pedal.

Aint No Sunshine – when she loops

Just cooked up a little loopy loop on the fly to throw a smidge of “Ain’t no sunshine” melody over. But the loop turned into its own thing, so I decided to chuck it into Logic instead and let it live its own life.

Madison Cunningham Pedal Demo Video

This was a fun one I was able to do with Turra. A quick little review of the JHS Artificial Blonde pedal where I got to play a few warbly sounding notes.

You have to know about 2 & 4

If you can internalise where beats 2 & 4 are at all times, you’ve got a pretty good shot at being able to string together a consistently rhythmic little ditty.

Less is more in G minor

A rhythmic improv in the key of G minor. Attempting to demonstrate that restraint is sometimes the key to victory.

Crazy in Love (Beyoncé) Cover

A little piece I wrote for a wedding one time. The bride and groom wanted this played during their ceremony. Who was I to say, “You know, that song is not really an acoustic guitar instrumental…?”

Tears in Heaven Cover (sort of)

When I started to connect the dots between chord progressions and lead lines across the full neck of the guitar, I started to hear songs that I had played for years, differently. This guy was one of the early forays into connecting those dots.
